I like to travel, a lot. College has opened a whole new world to me and I have only just started exploring what's out there. Before coming to Northwestern, the two farthest places I had traveled were Texas and Canada, but thanks to a hefty pile of student loans and Northwestern's oversized endowment, I have seen the world from more perspectives than I would have thought possible for myself just three years ago. From a reporting class in Israel to a student ski trip to study abroad and beyond, I have really begun to cross things off my list.

hi, I'm Sam

Western Wall, Jerusalem

At school I am involved in a variety of organizations. I love what I do and I love my school. I am grateful to be a part of the student publication, North by Northwestern. In addition to being an incredible teaching publication, its staffers are truly some of the best people to spend exorbitant amounts of time indoors with. I am also a mentor for the organization College Mentors for Kids. My "little buddy" Karim is whip smart and cooler than I'll ever be. I enjoy spending my Monday evenings with the kids and receiving the weekly reminder that my college problems are really not that big of a deal. In addition to some other involvement (the student organization Form & Function Marketing) and my two jobs (The Cradle and ProMazo--peek at my resume for more),  I am also a member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority where I have met some of my closest friends and spent more money on dues than I care to admit.

Welcome to my portfolio! There is a lot of my work on here, but it doesn't  tell you much about who I am outside of that, so I am taking that opportunity here.

I am a Chicagoland native with what is probably an unhealthy love for the city and the Midwest in general. When I am not away at school (Northwestern University) I spend a lot of time with my family, which consists of my parents, my two sisters, a dog, two goldfish and a very useless cat. Others have described our family as "functionally dysfunctional" and "really loud."

When I'm not messing around with yet another layout of my resume, I enjoy reading (I am currently on The Devil in the White City, although my favorite read of this year was The Unbearable Lightness of Being, catching up on T.V. (The Office, FriendsGame of Thrones, This is Us to name a few), cooking (I like to pretend I have a backup future in the culinary arts), and telling myself I'm good at yoga.

Oh, and I also love puppies.

I hope you enjoy this website! I'm always open to suggestion/constructive criticism, so if you have any of that feel free to contact me. Showers of praise are welcome too.
